More information about Iceland
Traveling to Iceland to ski in the Troll Peninsula (Tröllaskagi) is an experience that blends adventure, culture, and Arctic scenery. This region in the north of the country offers some of the best powder conditions in the North Atlantic and a spectacular geography, with mountains rising directly from the sea.
Over six days of skiing and a total of eight days of travel, you’ll follow an itinerary designed to showcase the best of northern Iceland:
Descents all the way down to sea level, through glacial valleys and remote fjords.
Thermal baths at the end of each day, soaking in natural hot waters surrounded by snow.
Northern lights viewing right from the house, thanks to the 64°N latitude and the Arctic’s clear skies.
The trip includes private transportation, accommodation in a fully equipped lodge, an IFMGA-certified mountain guide, avalanche safety training, and full logistical support. Groups are small (max. 6 people per guide), ensuring a personalized and safe experience.
Each day involves ascents of between 900 and 1,200 meters of elevation gain, with routes adapted to the group’s abilities and the snow conditions. Most descents end right by the ocean — a unique experience found only in places like Iceland or Norway.
Between ski days, you’ll be able to visit the small city of Akureyri, relax in natural hot springs, or enjoy the cozy atmosphere of Reykjavík, where the trip ends with a farewell dinner overlooking the Atlantic.
The technical level is moderate: previous experience in ski touring or splitboarding and good physical fitness are recommended to handle several hours of activity each day. However, routes are always adapted to the level of each group.
The best time to ski in Iceland is from March to April, when the days are long, conditions are stable, and the northern lights are at their peak.
Iceland is more than a ski destination — it’s a sensory journey through a land where ice, fire, and sea meet.
Live the Arctic experience: powder snow, hot springs, and northern lights under Iceland’s sky.
