More information about Kyrgyzstan
Traveling to Kyrgyzstan is an experience that combines high-quality freeride with ancient nomadic culture.
Just a few hours from Bishkek, the Jyrgalan Valley in the Tian Shan range offers spectacular terrain for catskiing, with mountains reaching up to 3,400 m and dry powder snow thanks to the Issyk-Kul Lake microclimate.
For five days, you’ll enjoy unlimited catskiing, with between 6 and 8 runs per day and a total of more than 3,000 meters of vertical. Our modified PistenBully machines will take you to remote summits, where you can choose natural lines, mellow tree runs, or wide-open slopes depending on snow conditions and the group’s level.
The trip includes accommodation in local guesthouses and winterized yurts, where each day ends with a Russian sauna and a traditional dinner. The experience is rounded out with cultural visits along the route from Bishkek to Jyrgalan, passing through Karakol and Fairy Tale Canyon, and with the chance to get an up-close look at the lives of nomadic families.
Our KMGA guides ensure safety, avalanche risk management, and the technical quality of every outing. Full safety equipment is provided (transceiver, shovel, and probe), along with prior advice on gear and clothing.
The itinerary starts in Bishkek, with a private transfer (8 hours) to the valley, five full days of catskiing, and a return trip with a final stop at Issyk-Kul. All transfers and meals are included, as well as accommodation, guiding, sauna, and cultural visits.
The recommended level is intermediate to advanced off-piste skiing or snowboarding. No previous experience in ski touring or ascents is required, as all uphill access is done by snowcat.
The best time to travel to Kyrgyzstan is from January to March, when the weather is stable and the snow is at its best.
More than just a destination, Kyrgyzstan is a complete adventure: freeride, hospitality, and nomadic life in the heart of Central Asia.
A unique experience where deep powder meets the spirit of the steppe.
