The Rifugio Città di Mantova, located at 3,498 m on the Monte Rosa glacier, is a privileged base for iconic ascents such as Capanna Margherita or Pyramide Vincent. The Capanna Regina Margherita is the highest mountain refuge in Europe, located at 4,554 meters above sea level on Punta Gnifetti of the Monte Rosa massif, on the Italian-Swiss border. Inaugurated in 1893, it serves as refuge, weather observatory, and a high-altitude scientific laboratory.
