ITINERARY TOUBKAL MOROCCO
Pick up at the hotel/riad in Marrakech (08:00). After your transfer from Marrakech to Imlil (1,780 m), we will start walking for about 6 hours from the Imlil valley to the Azzadene valley. On the way you will pass Tizi N’Mzik at 2450m, the refuge at Azib n’Tamsoult and the Ighouliden waterfalls. We will spend the night in Toubkal hut, also known as Neltner hut.
Early in the morning we will summit Jebel Toukbal, the highest peak in North Africa. Your route ascends the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. The walk is relatively easy, but the stony terrain and the altitude will make the march quite difficult in some sections. The views along the way make the trip worth it. At the top, you’ll see that the views of the landscape are breathtaking, from the Marrakech plain to the High Atlas in the north and as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. Descent to Toubkal hut for a well deserved rest.
In case that Toubkal summit was not reached the day before (bad weather, altitude problems…) will be done Toubkal. If summit has been done on day 2 then will trek towards Tizi n Ouagane, to ascend Ras (4,083m). Then will follow a southwest direction to climb to the summit of Timesguida (4,088m). After reaching both peaks, return to the refuge for lunch and descend to Imlil, passing the “Marabout of Sidi Chamharouch” sanctuary. The 8-9 hour trek ends with a vehicle transfer to Marrakech, arriving around 6:00 PM at your hotel or riad.
If you are in hurry and wish a fast ascent.

TOUR DETAILS TOUBKAL MOROCCO
CLIMB TO THE HIGHEST SUMMIT IN NORTH AFRICA, MOUNT TOUBKAL.
The Jbel Toubkal with its 4,167 meters is the highest mountain in North Africa, it is located in the Moroccan Western Atlas. Its ascent begins from the town of Imlil, located less than 1.5 hours by car from Marrakesh.
Its height does not present major technical complications but we must consider the appropriate equipment depending on the time of year. During the winter and a good part of the spring, snow can be found from an elevation of 2,000 meters upwards.
We will use mules to transport luggage, which will allow you to carry a personal backpack with little weight during the ascent.
At the foot of the mountain we have different villages of Berber culture, our local guides will introduce you to these friendly people and their customs.
The normal program is 3 day which will give an extra day to summit Toubkal in case of bad weather or summit two other 4k mountains nearby, Ras and Timesguida.
The other programs we have is a 2 day express program that is only recommended for people used to to speed climbs at altitude; in case you have not done priorly climbs at this altitude this way you have a high risk to suffer Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).
We also offer a 5 day program that will allow you to summit all 4k summits next to Toubkal in a single trip being at Toubkal hut as a base for all climbs.
Remember that is mandatory by Moroccan law to hire a local guide and there are checkpoints at the base of the mountain.
You need a minimum level that allows you to do a mountain route of 1200m of elevation gain in one day. It is not a technical demanding route. In the winter months November till April snow can be found and will need to be used crampons for the ascent. It is also possible to do it with skis on winter time. The mules will transport our backpacks to the Toubkal hut.
