ITINERARY TROMSØ SKI
We meet at the dock in Tromsø at 16:00, settle into the boat and get to know each other. Before we hoist sails, we familiarize ourselves with the boat and equipment, and go through safety routines. We leave Tromsøsundet and Grøtsundet already on the first evening on our way to the first anchorage. We prepare supper when we have cast off, but please eat dinner before attendance if possible.
After breakfast, we take the dinghy to land and the adventure’s first skitour! We are aiming for some of the peaks on our way north from Tromsø for this day. Where we have nice options both on Ringvassøya and Reinøya. Or perhaps Ullstinden at 1093 masl will be the first peak of the trip! After skiing, we sail towards Lyngen and anchor or moor in a suitable place for a new peak the next morning.
Depending on the snow conditions and the level of the group, there are plenty of options. We can cross the island of Uløya, go up to Store Kågtind (1228m), on the island of Kågen, with an impressive final pyramid completely frozen and very photogenic (but without any technical difficulty). We can also carry out different routes of all unevenness and difficulties in the Lyngen Alps peninsula itself.
we will find a suitable peak on our way back towards Tromsø. We have good alternatives on Ringvassøya or Reinøya on the way into Grøtsundet. After a few good hours of skiing in the morning, we head for Tromsø. On our way to the harbor we pack our things, clean up and wash ourselves out of the boat. We dock and end the trip in Tromsø at 16:00 latest.

MAP TROMSØ SKI
TOUR DETAILS TROMSØ SKI
SKI TO THE SEA, GET ON THE SAILBOAT AND EXPLORE THE NEXT ISLAND OR TROMSØ FJORD AND THE LYNGEN ALPS
Sailing to the bottom of a mountain, putting on your skis on the beach, riding your touring skis to the top and skiing down the other side of the mountain to the next beach, where our sailboat will pick us up. This is Ski and Sail, and Northern Norway is the best place in the world to practice it.
Whether you are a beginner in ski mountaineering or an expert, you have to try this SKI and SAIL experience at least once in your life (better several times). You will enjoy a pleasant company, landscapes, sunsets, northern lights (????) and being able to ski to the sea.
A ski trip that starts and ends in Tromsø. We will enjoy 4 full days of skiing in the areas of the Lyngen Alps, the islands of Kågen and Arnøya, Vannøya and Ringvassøya. An immense virgin area with incredible descents of all difficulties and unevenness.
The ascents that we complete during our trips will be planned together, according to the group’s ability level, the weather and the general conditions. After our daily ascents, we set out for the next fjord and prepare for the next day. The luxury of having a ski guide on board also means that we will make the most of our time in the mountains; always from the security that a qualified and local guide offers us.
The 44 and 50 foot sailboats are specially equipped for winter sailing in these latitudes, with heating, a ski equipment drying area and duvets in all cabins. There is capacity for 6/7 people plus the captain and the mountain guide.
We have sailboats for Ski & Sail in the main areas of Northern Norway, the Lofoten Peninsula, Tromsø, the Lyngen Alps… and the island of Svalbard. An area of pure and exceptional nature, with a thousand skiing options while we travel by sailboat between them.
“MOUNTAIN SKIING IN NORTHERN NORWAY FROM A SAILBOAT, THE PERFECT COMBINATION”
For this Ski and Sail trip, a correct level of off-piste skiing and having previously done some ski touring activity (randonnee / ski touring / backcountry skiing) is required. Depending on the physical and technical level of the participants and the snow and weather conditions, the mountain guide will adapt the outings for maximum enjoyment. Do not hesitate to contact us to jointly evaluate whether you have the appropriate level of skiing.
If you know that you prefer to go far and steep and are looking for a challenge, our advice is to bring along your group of friends and book an entire boat for yourselves. Weather and snow conditions will, of course, determine what and where we can ski. Even if you already knut each other, we can still tailor the level more to your wishes and skill level.
Navigation is almost always done inside the fjords, so we rarely encounter waves. We will carry out part of our sailing and all members of the group will be able to learn all the techniques and maneuvers on board.
Our trainer Mr. Pablo Ral, graduate in Physical Activity Sciences, Master in High Performance, Chilean Ski Mountaineering Coach and specialist in endurance sports… can make you a specific personal training plan for this trip.

Food:
The culinary experience is just as vital as setting the sails or taking the helm! Once aboard, the crew will assign guests into pairs, who will then take turns preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to a scheduled rota.
Worried about your cooking skills? Don’t be! A comprehensive menu plan for the entire voyage is already prepared, with all provisions stocked on board. This menu is adaptable, allowing flexibility based on daily activities—whether you catch fresh fish or if the more adventurous cooks want to try something new. The menu plan is supported by a detailed recipe book designed specifically for onboard cooking, with ingredients, quantities, and methods tailored to each meal. Cooking on board is more than just a necessity; it’s a key part of the sailing experience, fostering teamwork, confidence, and a shared appreciation for diverse culinary traditions.
The Itinerary explains what meals are included each day according to the program. If you have allergies or preferences, let us know on the registration form and we will take it into account.
We always recommend that you bring your own energy bars, nuts… so that you can eat while doing the activities.

The program provides accommodation in shared cabins. If you want a single cabin, please indicate this at the time of booking.
Sailboat:
The sailboats are fully equipped with heating to be comfortable inside both when eating and sleeping. They also have a drying area to ensure that all the material is dry and warm before the next ski.

Single travelers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and solo travelers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.
