ITINERARY EVEREST TREK
Arrival in Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel. Free afternoon: we can visit the Swayambhu stupa (monkey temple), get lost in the streets of Thamel or have our first Dal bhat dinner (the most traditional dish of Nepali cuisine).
Free day in Kathmandu. To carry out the processing of permits and to be able to carry out the last purchases for trekking.
You can take advantage of any of our extra services: Everest Morning flight or a day of cultural excursion through the Kathmandu Valley (these can be booked at the time of booking or later)
Early morning transfer to the airport of Ramechap (4h car) for the flight to Lukla. The flight to Lukla is a unique experience in itself. The aerodrome is on a slope and the difference between the two ends of the runway is only an exceptional 60 meters. Trekking to Phakding with stunning green scenery with the view of Kusum Kangraru.
We follow the Dudh Koshi, ascending through forests of Himalayan pine and cedar, to the celebrated village of Namche Bazaar. Namche village is a historic trading post where Nepalese and Tibetan traders exchange salt, dried meat and textiles. As well as being a splendid destination for buying traditional handicrafts, Namche remains the central trading post in the Khumbu attracting Himalayan and lowland traders. You will spend two days in Namche to acclimatize, visit local markets and spend time with your team. On the trek we caught our first glimpses of Everest and neighboring peaks.
This day is specially designed for acclimatization. We will walk to Syangboche Airport (3700m) which is supposed to be the highest airport in the world, then continue up to Everest View Hotel for great panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Tawache etc. On the way back, we will visit the Sherpa Museum of Everest Culture and Photo Gallery.
The smooth and easy path takes us towards the view of Mount Everest, descending deep into the Dudh Koshi Valley at Pungki Thanka and from this point, ascending the right flank of the Dudh Koshi Valley to the Tengboche Monastery (3860m). It is the spiritual center of the Khumbu. The climb is long, but it’s more than made up for by the magnificent views of Mount Amadablam and, on a clear day, views of Mount Everest and its surrounding peaks.
Descend through a beautiful forest, cross Imja Khola and walk through the village of Pangboche (3900m); perhaps today is the most interesting trek because you will not lose altitude like other days and you will enjoy the views of Mount Amadablam, Mount Lhotse and other peaks; the route continues through pastures to Dingboche, known as the ‘valley of summer’.
This would be your second day of acclimatization which requires about 6 hours of walking at an altitude of 5100m. After breakfast, ascend Nagerjun (5100m), a hill located on the flanks of the Chhukung Valley, directly above Dingboche. The main goal is to climb high and sleep low. The path gets steep at times, making for a physically strenuous day. Ascending the hill could take up to 5 hours at altitude. From this height there are good views of Lobuche Este (6119m), Lobuche Oeste (6145m), Pico Taboche (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). On a clear day, you can even see Makalu, the fifth highest mountain in the world, with great views of the Pheriche Valley. After a short rest, the descent back to Dingboche begins and the high altitude hike takes about 2 hours. After lunch, take a well-deserved rest, as afternoon temperatures could drop quickly as the sun sets over the mountaintops. You will also spend a second night in Dingboche.
Hike along a wide valley to Dughla, past the hiker’s aid post at Pheriche (4240m). This trail is run by Western volunteer doctors and is supported by the Himalayan Rescue Association, which provides treatment and consultation to trekkers. Continue up the valley, gaining altitude. We leave the valley to descend into the yak pastures of Lobuche.
After a short climb through meadows, look out over the Khumbu Glacier. Straight ahead is Kalapattar, the best vantage point to see the entire south face of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks.
After a couple of hours we will reach Gorekshep and continue our trek towards Everest Base Camp. There isn’t a lot of elevation gain but there is a lot of ups and downs and combined with the altitude it can be a strenuous hike but the trip is worth it. After approximately 3 hours of trekking, you will reach the base camp and enjoy a magnificent view of the Khumbu glacier and icefall, where Everest expeditions begin.
The day begins with a trek to Kalapattar (5,545m), the best vantage point to witness Mount Everest in all its splendor and the spectacular Himalayas. Then we return to Gorekshep, to have breakfast and then we will descend to Pheriche (4210m).
Easy walk along Imja Khola, a bit up to Tengboche, down Pungki Thanka and complete the climb up to Kyangjuma, and an easier trail up to Namche.
The trek continues along the Dudh Kosi river to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla, where you will take your flight back to Kathmandu.
Amazing 30 minute scenic flight back, and return to Kathmandu
Free day in Kathmandu.
Final departure, transfer to the airport.

TOUR DETAILS EVEREST TREK
ARRIVE AT THE FOOT OF EVEREST AND DISCOVER THE BASE CAMP OF THE ALPINISTS.

It includes the ascent to Kala Patthar (5,630m) from where you can have the best views of Everest. The view to the east from its top is exactly the same as that of the most classic postcards of any bookstore in Kathmandu. But seeing it with your own eyes is much better than on paper.
We will discover the famous land of the Sherpas is a paradise for mountain lovers, as it has four of the 14 eight thousand meter peaks in the world: Everest, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar and Cho-You, and is also home to many 7000-meter peaks. This trek also offers a spectacular route to the heart of the Khumbu Valley and witnesses many gompas and chortens along the way.
You need a minimum level that allows you to do a mountain route of 1200m of elevation gain in one day. It is not a demanding route and days are interspersed with short walks to guarantee good acclimatization and good recovery from the days of trekking. During the route we can carry a small backpack with the things we will use during the day. The porters will transport our backpacks to the next lodge.
