ITINERARY LOFOTEN SEA
At 16:00, we begin by getting settled onboard. We’ll review the itinerary and goals for the week, along with essential safety briefings and an introduction to basic sail handling. Over dinner, we’ll have the chance to get acquainted with one another. If the weather permits, we might set sail on the first night to a nearby anchorage.
Start your day with a refreshing morning swim followed by a hearty breakfast as we set sail towards the breathtaking landscapes of Raftsundet and Trollfjorden. Our route takes us past the picturesque islands of LilleMolla, StoreMolla, and Digermulen. Enjoy lunch in the awe-inspiring Trollfjorden (Fjord of Trolls), a narrow fjord famous among sailors for its towering cliffs that rise sharply from the water. Trollfjorden offers fantastic hiking opportunities, where you can trek up the mountains and maybe even encounter the legendary Troll families rumored to live there. Alternatively, you can fish or simply unwind by the sea. In the evening, we’ll continue our voyage to the island of Skrova, where we’ll dock for the night. Skrova, once the primary whaling port in Lofoten, boasts a prime location near the whale-rich waters of Vestfjord.
Exploring Henningsvær and Gimsøya. We start the day with a morning hike to the 231-meter peak of Skrova, offering stunning views of the Lofoten Wall to the west, the vast Vestfjord to the south, and the mainland, including Steigen, to the east. Afterward, we’ll spend the day sailing toward Henningsvær, navigating the tidal stream of Gimsøystraumen before reaching the exposed northern coast of the Lofoten Islands. Our evening destination is the renowned surfing beach at Unstad, where we’ll anchor in a nearby bay and hike over the hill to Unstad.
Begin your day with a scenic hike to Unstad, where you can rent surfing gear or take a surfing or SUP boarding lesson at Unstad Arctic Surf. If surfing isn’t your thing, consider visiting the Viking Museum in Borg or simply exploring the stunning surroundings. In the afternoon, we set sail for Nusfjord, a charming and well-preserved fishing village that’s among the most authentic in Lofoten. For dinner, we have plans at Restaurant Karoline, renowned as one of the top dining spots in the region. Nusfjord also offers a cozy pub, Pauline, perfect for an evening visit before we rest for the night.
Today, we delve into the beauty of Reine. The best way to reach this picturesque village is by boat, as the harbor, framed by towering mountains, offers an awe-inspiring view. Options for the day include joining a guided kayak tour, hiking up Reinebringen, or taking a boat to Reinefjord and on to Vindstad. From Vindstad, a trail leads us to the breathtaking Bunesstranda (Bunes Beach) on the northern side. Here, we often participate in beach clean-ups to maintain its pristine condition. Tonight, we’ll stay in Reine, allowing for an evening hike up Reinebringen under nearly 24 hours of daylight.
If weather and wind conditions allow, our goal today is to sail to Værøy, one of the Lofoten archipelago’s most remote and southernmost islands. Known as the “weather island,” Værøy is only accessible by boat, offering stunning beaches and dramatic mountains, some of which are home to Norway’s puffin colonies. After sailing and enjoying lunch, the afternoon will be dedicated to exploring Værøy. We plan to hike the mountain trails and perhaps take a refreshing evening swim before dinner.
After nearly a week of exploring the seas, it’s time to prepare the boat for a significant journey. Put on your sailing gloves because today we’re crossing the mighty Vestfjorden! The voyage typically lasts 8-12 hours, depending on weather conditions. If you’re sailing with a group of boats, this day becomes an exhilarating race. Upon arriving in the Bodø harbor, we’ll tidy up and pack before enjoying dinner. If time allows, we might head out for a beer to celebrate our last night together.
Farewell for Now! As our exciting week of adventure and fun draws to a close, it’s time to say goodbye. This morning, we’ll be packing up, cleaning, and preparing to leave the boat. For those interested, breakfast is available at the nearby Thon Hotel. Our journey officially concludes at 10:00 AM today. Thank you all for an incredible week together, and we look forward to welcoming you back next time!

TOUR DETAILS LOFOTEN SEA
DISCOVER THE BEST OF LOFOTEN FROM A SAILBOAT
Lofoten is a natural paradise, one of the most photographed places in all of Norway, for a reason. A succession of fjords, mountains, fishing villages that seems straight out of a story.
The best way to get around and explore the place is with a sailboat; We will have 8 days to navigate its fjords and climb its mountains. It is a program with many activities: hiking, sailing, paddle surfing, saunas, bonfires on the beach, cod fishing… we promise you won’t get bored. Troll Fjord, Hennigsvaer, Nusfjord, Svolvaer, Reine… are some of the magical places that we will visit.
The trip will be made with a Skipper from our team who has been visiting the place for more than 10 years and will show you every corner. Besides, if you want to learn or improve in sailing and maneuvering a sailboat, you will have the opportunity.
The program is subject to change due to weather, always agreeing with the entire group on the next day’s plan. The scheduled mountain ascents are easy and without technical complications with slopes of less than 600 meters.
This isn’t just a vacation; it’s an immersive adventure on the open seas. On this trip, you won’t be a passive observer, you’ll become an essential part of the crew. From hoisting the sails to steering the helm, and even preparing meals, you’ll dive into every aspect of life on board. As you navigate the waters, you’ll not only discover new destinations but also learn the art of sailing. By the end of this journey, you won’t just leave with memories, you’ll depart as a confident and skilled sailor, ready to take on the seas.
DISCOVER LOFOTEN FROM THE SEA AND FROM THE MOUNTAINS, THE BEST COMBINATION
No sailing experience? No problem! Our adventures welcome everyone, from novices to seasoned sailors. Whether new or experienced, our trips cater to all levels.
We quickly transform beginners into sailors and offer experienced participants greater responsibilities. Our mainland journeys involve 44-50 foot boats navigating coastal and protected waters, with occasional open stretches for excitement. Routes adjust based on weather and conditions for a safe voyage.
Trips are not overly strenuous; rotating positions allow for both sailing and relaxation. Active engagement minimizes seasickness, which passes quickly if it occurs. Expect unpredictable weather, with strong winds and varied conditions in northern Norway and the Arctic. Be prepared for an unforgettable experience, embracing both calm and rough weather.
Navigation is almost always done inside the fjords, so we rarely encounter waves. We will carry out part of our sailing and all members of the group will be able to learn all the techniques and maneuvers on board.
Join our crew! No sailing experience needed, but you’ll learn a lot. Our expert skipper handles training and navigation. Whether you’re a novice or experienced, you’ll be challenged and achieve memorable experiences. First-timers will become sailors quickly, while experienced sailors will take on more responsibility. Participate in all tasks: helm, hoist sails, cook, clean, navigate, swim, gut fish, and more.

Food:
The culinary experience is just as vital as setting the sails or taking the helm! Once aboard, the crew will assign guests into pairs, who will then take turns preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to a scheduled rota.
Worried about your cooking skills? Don’t be! A comprehensive menu plan for the entire voyage is already prepared, with all provisions stocked on board. This menu is adaptable, allowing flexibility based on daily activities—whether you catch fresh fish or if the more adventurous cooks want to try something new. The menu plan is supported by a detailed recipe book designed specifically for onboard cooking, with ingredients, quantities, and methods tailored to each meal. Cooking on board is more than just a necessity; it’s a key part of the sailing experience, fostering teamwork, confidence, and a shared appreciation for diverse culinary traditions.
The Itinerary explains what meals are included each day according to the program. If you have allergies or preferences, let us know on the registration form and we will take it into account.
We always recommend that you bring your own energy bars, nuts… so that you can eat while doing the activities.
Accommodation:
The program provides accommodation in shared cabins. If you want a single cabin, please indicate this at the time of booking.
Sailboat:
The sailboats are fully equipped with heating to be comfortable inside both when eating and sleeping.

Single travelers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and solo travelers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.
