TOUR DETAILS KILIMANJARO AFRICA
“CLIMB KILIMANJARO, MEET ITS ANIMALS, PEOPLE AND CULTURE”
The ascent to Kilimanjaro (5,895m) does not require great technical knowledge to be able to reach its top, but it does require a good physical condition and preparation to be able to climb its almost 6,000 meters. A good acclimatization is required to avoid suffering from altitude sickness, its unevenness should not be underestimated.
The ascent can be done from 7 different routes, although there are 4 main ones, each one has its particularities; let us advise you and we will find the route that best suits your goals and expectations.
Some of them offer lodges where you can spend sleep every night and others only tents. Our local team will make it possible for you to live the best experience and crown the top of the roof of Africa.
In a very summarized way these are the differences between the routes:
-Ideal for beginners – Marangu and Machame Routes
-The best landscapes – Lemosho and Machame Routes
-Affordable price and for beginners – Marangu Route
-Medium difficulty – Machame Routes and Lemosho Routes
-Expert level – Umbwe Route
The trekking can be done from 5 days (4 nights) plus 2 nights at the base of the mountain. We recommend a minimum of 6 days of trekking to have a good acclimatization and enjoy the experience more calmly. This program is a basic program for the Machame route.
Contact us to be able to customize and advise you on a plan for you.
The ascent to Kilimanjaro can be complemented with a Safari, beaches or different cultural activities. We are experts in the region with local knowledge and we want you to get to know its culture and people.
You need a minimum level that allows you to do a mountain route of 1200m of elevation gain in one day. It is not a demanding route and days are interspersed with short walks to guarantee good acclimatization and good recovery from the days of trekking. During the route we can carry a small backpack with the things we will use during the day. The porters will transport our backpacks to the next lodge.

Choosing the best time is crucial for a successful trek. The ideal time to climb Kilimanjaro is during the dry seasons, when the weather is more predictable, and the risk of rain is lower. Kilimanjaro’s two main dry seasons are:
January to March: Considered one of the best times to climb Kilimanjaro, this period offers warm weather and clear skies. Additionally, trails tend to be less crowded compared to the mid-year peak season, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a quieter experience.
June to October: Another popular dry season, with cooler yet manageable temperatures. While the weather remains favorable for trekking, expect higher crowds, especially from July to August, as it coincides with summer holidays in Europe and North America.
Climbing Kilimanjaro in the Wet Season:
If your schedule doesn’t align with the dry seasons, you can still climb Kilimanjaro during the off-season. The wet months are typically March, April, and November. Be prepared for muddy conditions, especially on the lower slopes. For these months, the Rongai Route is recommended, as it starts on the drier Kenyan side and generally experiences less rainfall. This route is also known for being less challenging, making it a good option for wet-season trekkers.
We believe solo travelers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Single travelers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and solo travelers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.
