ITINERARY LANGTANG TREK
Arrival in Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure: we can visit the stupa of Swayambhu (monkey temple), get lost in the streets of Thamel or dine our first Dal bhat (the most traditional dish of Nepalese cuisine).
After breakfast we boarded the bus to start our journey. It takes 7 to 8 hours by bus through Trishuli Bazar, Dhunche Village and reach Syarubensi. On the way to Kakani, excellent views of Annapurna II, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. Hostel in Syarubensi.
We cross the Bhote Kosi River via a suspension bridge to the “old” Syabrubesi, a cluster of houses and a school facing the river. Another suspension bridge takes us over the south side of the Langtang Khola, this river that we will follow upwards for the next few days. We climb slowly to Doman (1680m) and continue along a rocky ridge to Landslide Lodge and the Hot Spring restaurant; named after a small hot spring on the opposite bank of the river at 1810m. The trail now climbs gently up to Bamboo Lodge where we will enjoy our lunch. Facing the river we will see near vertical cliffs covered with cacti. After Bamboo we cross the Langtang Khola on a new suspension bridge to the north bank. The forest becomes sparser and drier on this side of the river, consisting mainly of oaks and nettles. We climb steeply up a good trail to Rimche (2510 m) and descend a little further to spend the night at the Lama Hotel.
The trail ascends gradually, as the valley becomes a classic wide U-shaped glacial valley. The path in the meadow and the steep ascent will reach to see Yala Peak (5033 m) and through two villages Thangsep and Chamki. Arrive here and enjoy the beautiful views of Yala Peak & Ga (6387 m). Descend, cross streams and climb past several water powered mills, walls and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang Village (3500 m). 5 hours of hiking.
The trail climbs a ridge dominated by a large chorten and a long row of mani prayer walls, then climbs gradually past the village of Mundu and Sindum, then continues through the yak pastures of Yamphu (3640m) as the valley widens. After crossing Laja Khola and climbing a moraine to a viewpoint where Kyanjin Gompa appears. The trail through the rock and uphill towards Gompa and with a short descent to a large group, we finally arrive at Kyangjing Gompa, a short hike but the site of today’s overnight stop, also famous for producing the 7000 kg of yak cheese per year.
This is a full day excursion doing the Tsergo Ri hike. It is a strenuous climb, but worth doing once you reach the top and witness a breathtaking panoramic view. Return to Kyangjing Gompa to sleep.
Back to the valley bottom.
Walk gently up and down to Thulo Syabru after taking the left trail from Lama Hotel, the right trail goes to Syarpa Gaon. You continue down the valley crossing Langtang Khola just before Bamboo village. You travel along the contour of the valley headwaters and Thulo Syabru appears perched atop a ridge. You descend to cross a bridge and then climb up through terraced fields and farmhouses to reach this pretty village, Thulo Syabru, a Tamang village that offers some nice last views of Langtang and Ganesh Himalaya.
The first part of the hike is a steep climb through oak, spruce and rhododendron forests to the top of a ridge. From here it is only a short descent to Brabal. Beyond Brabal, continue descending for about 1.30 hours, then you will reach Thulo Bharkhu (1860 m) and Dhunche via the road. Today you enjoy beautiful scenery of Tibetan mountains and Ganesh Himal. After Thulo Bharkhu, you can walk level to a small stream below Dhunche, then gently ascend to Dhunche (1960 m), where you will spend the last night with a good dinner and thanking your trekking team.

The path that we will take on this trek goes through exuberant subtropical forests until we reach the very Himalayas, with large and impressive peaks and glaciers.
The region is home to the Tamang and Sherpa peoples. Here they live their lives with a unique culture that is a curious mix of Nepali and Tibetan influences.
