ITINERARY SKI TOURING
Arrival in Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel. Free afternoon: we can visit the Swayambhu stupa (monkey temple), get lost in the streets of Thamel or have our first Dal bhat dinner (the most traditional dish of Nepali cuisine).
Transfer by Tourist bus to Pokhara. Free afternoon to visit Pokhara Lake. Night at the Hotel.
After breakfast in Pokhara there will be vehicles and our trekking staff ready to take you to Nayapul and Kimchi, the total trip will be 3:30h
Just a 45-minute walk will bring you to Ghandruk, a Gurung village, the most beautiful village on the trip. We then start the trek by walking along the Kimrung river and up through Kyimmung, Taplung village and finally arrive in Chomrung for the night.
The trail descends a stone stairway and crosses the Chomrong Khola on a suspension bridge, then up the mountain flank, rocky path through the forested area and then reaches Khurdi Ghar. This can be a good place for lunch, the walk descends (about 350 meters) through the stone steps, the woods and you will arrive at the Bamboo Hotel. The walk now gently ascends through the woods, a stream flowing down from the flank to your left hand side. Now our final destination of the day “Doban” is approaching in 10 minutes, where we will stop for the night.
The trail climbs along the Modi Khola and then up a rocky path through the forests until it reaches a cave at Hinku. From here you will reach Deurali and along with the river bank you will climb little from Bagal witnessing rhododendrons and at the end of the ridge you will stop at Machapuchare (Fish Tail) base camp.
The magnificient views of the mountains of Hiunchuli, Annapurna I and III, Gangapurna and Machapuchare by themselves will make for a great day out. Our night stops at one of the accommodations here.
Today we arrive to the Annapurna base camp, going up a hill through a moraine. Crossing three hills and finally the Annapurna BC (4130 m). Here you will see some of the amazing views of Annapurna I (8091 m). On your left, Varhha Shikar (7,647 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m) and Hiunchuli (6,441 m). Also, mountains like Khansar Kang, Tarke Kang, Singuchuli and behind them you can see the triangular rock needle of Machhapuchare and the snowy peak of Annapurna III (7555m)
On your left, Varhha Shikar (7,647 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m) and Hiunchuli (6,441 m). Also, mountains like Khansar Kang, Tarke Kang, Singuchuli, and behind them you can see the triangular rock needle of Machhapuchare and the snowy peak of Annapurna III (7555m).
Welcome to your new ski house for the next few days. After lunch we will put on our skis and do the first skiing activity under the Annapurna.
Mountaineering / Backcountry Skiing / Splitboarding:
Our lodge located in Annapurna BC will be our starting point for the activities of the next few days, with endless possibilities in mountains of up to five and six thousand meters of altitude. From here the group will decide its objectives.
The ascents to these mountains will be done in the purest alpine style, without the help of porters and carrying only what is necessary. So you have to arrive well acclimatized and without rushing.
Machapuchare Base Camp is another excellent place to start new skiing activities, so we will reserve the last few days to explore this area.
We will descend through the bottom of the valley to the village of Chomrong.
We return to the end of the trail and spend the afternoon to discover the calm and beautiful Pokhara. Night in hotel.
We will leave early in the morning by bus to Kathmandu. Night at the hotel.
Final departure, transfer to the airport.
All our Nepal tours can be extended and customized. Here are the most popular additional services:

SKIING IN THE HIMALAYAS IS A GIFT ONLY FOR BIG DREAMERS
We have experience organizing ski expeditions of all levels for many years. The program we detail here is an example of the many ski activities that can be done in the Himalayas of Nepal.
The Annapurna Sanctuary region is ideal for its quick and easy access, as well as usually having a quantity and quality of snow.
There are also other options for activities in autumn at higher altitudes such as the Far West or the northern region of Manaslu. Do not hesitate to talk to us and together we will design the ideal trip for you.
For this Ski Touring trip, a good level of off-piste skiing and having previously done usually ski touring activity (randonnee / ski touring / backcountry skiing) is required. Depending on the physical and technical level of the participants and the snow and weather conditions, the mountain guide will adapt the outings for maximum enjoyment. Do not hesitate to contact us to jointly evaluate whether you have the appropriate level of skiing.
If you know that you prefer to go far and steep and are looking for a challenge, our advice is to bring along your group of friends and book an entire mountain expedition group for yourselves. Weather and snow conditions will, of course, determine what and where we can ski. Even if you already knut each other, we can still tailor the level more to your wishes and skill level.
Our trainer Mr. Pablo Ral, graduate in Physical Activity Sciences, Master in High Performance, Chilean Ski Mountaineering Coach and specialist in endurance sports… can make you a specific personal training plan for this trip.
