Tour the best sites and places in Lofoten from a sailboat in 8 days. Climb the mountains, bonfires on the beach, saunas, fish for cod… and all while sailing on a sailboat among the majestic fjords of Northern Norway.
Lofoten is a natural paradise, one of the most photographed places in all of Norway, for a reason. A succession of fjords, mountains, fishing villages that seems straight out of a story.
The best way to get around and explore the place is with a sailboat; We will have 8 days to navigate its fjords and climb its mountains.
It is a program with many activities: hiking, sailing, paddle surfing, saunas, bonfires on the beach, cod fishing… we promise you won’t get bored.
Troll Fjord, Hennigsvaer, Nusfjord, Svolvaer, Reine… are some of the magical places that we will visit.
The trip will be made with a Skipper from our team who has been visiting the place for more than 10 years and will show you every corner. Besides, if you want to learn or improve in sailing and maneuvering a sailboat, you will have the opportunity.
The program is subject to change due to weather, always agreeing with the entire group on the next day’s plan.
The scheduled mountain ascents are easy and without technical complications with slopes of less than 600 meters.
Day 1
We will meet at 16:00 at the port of Svolvaer. After safety instructions and receiving all the food for the week, we will set sail for Reknesbukta. A really nice closed bay where we will spend the first night at anchor.
Day 2
Early in the morning we will set sail for the spectacular Trollfjord, one of the most magical places in Lofoten. From the small pier we will go up to Trollfjordhytta; a beautiful mountain refuge surrounded by mountains and a glacial lake. where there is a fire sauna with the frozen lake in front to immerse ourselves in afterwards.
Day 3
In the morning we will sail towards Henningsvaer, a very beautiful cultural city with many art shops, cafes and the best cinnamon rolls in Lofoten (I promise). From the city you can walk to Festvagtind or relax in the city with a coffee and visit the most photographed Lofoten football field.
Day 4
We will set sail in the morning towards the fishing ground, yes, today is cod fishing day! We will stop at a nice beach to cook fresh fish with a beach bonfire and swim. In the afternoon we will move to Ballstad with the possibility of enjoying a sauna by the sea.
Day 5
We sail to Nusfjord, a hidden gem of Lofoten, where we will climb to Kollfjellet. After the walk we will do 1 hour of Stand Up Paddle to relax before having dinner at the best restaurant in town, Karoline.
Day 6
In the morning we will sail early to Reine. We will make the walk to Reinebringen, 1566 steps to the impressive viewpoint with stunning views. In the evening, if the weather is good, we can bivouac on Bundes beach with a bonfire under the midnight sun. A pristine and wild beach on the north side of Lofoten.
Day 7
Sailing regatta day. By now you should feel comfortable handling ropes and sails! A long day (6-8 hours) sailing back to Svolvaer. Arrival in the afternoon to the town where we will have a farewell dinner at the Bacalao restaurant.
Day 8
Breakfast on board, pick up our things and return home with a suitcase full of memories to last a lifetime.
