Day 4

Trekking to Namche Bazaar

We follow the Dudh Koshi, ascending through forests of Himalayan pine and cedar, to the celebrated village of Namche Bazaar. Namche village is a historic trading post where Nepalese and Tibetan traders exchange salt, dried meat and textiles. As well as being a splendid destination for buying traditional handicrafts, Namche remains the central trading post in the Khumbu attracting Himalayan and lowland traders. You will spend two days in Namche to acclimatize, visit local markets and spend time with your team. On the trek we caught our first glimpses of Everest and neighboring peaks. Accommodation in a guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 5

Namche Bazaar and Everest View Hotel

This day is specially designed for acclimatization. We will walk to Syangboche Airport (3700m) which is supposed to be the highest airport in the world, then continue up to Everest View Hotel for great panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Tawache etc. On the way back, we will visit the Sherpa Museum of Everest Culture and Photo Gallery. Accommodation in a guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 6

Trekking to Tengboche

The smooth and easy path takes us towards the view of Mount Everest, descending deep into the Dudh Koshi Valley at Pungki Thanka and from this point, ascending the right flank of the Dudh Koshi Valley to the Tengboche Monastery (3860m). It is the spiritual center of the Khumbu. The climb is long, but it’s more than made up for by the magnificent views of Mount Amadablam and, on a clear day, views of Mount Everest and its surrounding peaks. Accommodation in a guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 7

Trek to Dingboche

Descend through a beautiful forest, cross Imja Khola and walk through the village of Pangboche (3900m); perhaps today is the most interesting trek because you will not lose altitude like other days and you will enjoy the views of Mount Amadablam, Mount Lhotse and other peaks; the route continues through pastures to Dingboche, known as the ‘valley of summer’. Accommodation in a guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

ROUTE MAP

Day 8

Trek to Nagerjun and back to Dingboche

This would be your second day of acclimatization which requires about 6 hours of walking at an altitude of 5100m. After breakfast, ascend Nagerjun (5100m), a hill located on the flanks of the Chhukung Valley, directly above Dingboche. The main goal is to climb high and sleep low. The path gets steep at times, making for a physically strenuous day. Ascending the hill could take up to 5 hours at altitude. From this height there are good views of Lobuche Este (6119m), Lobuche Oeste (6145m), Pico Taboche (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). On a clear day, you can even see Makalu, the fifth highest mountain in the world, with great views of the Pheriche Valley. After a short rest, the descent back to Dingboche begins and the high altitude hike takes about 2 hours. After lunch, take a well-deserved rest, as afternoon temperatures could drop quickly as the sun sets over the mountaintops. You will also spend a second night in Dingboche. Accommodation in a guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 9

Trek to Lobuche

Hike along a wide valley to Dughla, past the hiker’s aid post at Pheriche (4240m). We leave the valley to descend into the yak pastures of Lobuche. Accommodation in a guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 10

Trek to Everest Base Camp

After a short climb through meadows, look out over the Khumbu Glacier. Straight ahead is Kalapattar, the best vantage point to see the entire south face of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks.
After a couple of hours we will reach Gorekshep and continue our trek towards Everest Base Camp. There isn’t a lot of elevation gain but there is a lot of ups and downs and combined with the altitude it can be a strenuous hike but the trip is worth it. After approximately 3 hours of trekking, you will reach the base camp and enjoy a magnificent view of the Khumbu glacier and icefall, where Everest expeditions begin. Accommodation in a guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

During the route we can carry a small backpack with the things we will use during the day. The porters will transport our backpacks to the next lodge.

For those who always want more, we have several extensions to do during the afternoons to ascend to peaks close to our lodges from 3,600 to 5,100m.

Security:

As mountain professionals we not only seek the greatest enjoyment, but also the highest possible degree of safety during the activities. For this we will have personal safety and communication equipment and a sufficient first aid kit.

It is essential to have accident and rescue insurance that covers any incident (it is mandatory for all participants). If you don’t have one, we can manage it for you.

A list of materials will be provided to participants. Although it will be very similar to the material required to carry out activities in the middle mountains in the Pyrenees in winter.
